I'm using this printer with a mid-2012 MacBook Pro and OS X 10.9.4 (Mavericks). I downloaded the setup file directly from Canon's website and didn't bother trying to use their included CDROM because I assumed it might be full of bloatware I didn't want. Canon includes a lengthly (3 page) print cartridge alignment procedure that's triggered during the setup and anytime the ink cartridges are disturbed or replaced. This process is essential for best text and image sharpness.
I'm happy to report this printer works perfectly. It prints beautiful, sharp graphics and images. The reasonably small footprint (when compared to multi-function printers) is a nice bonus.

Canon imageCLASS MF8280cw Wireless 4-In-1 Color Laser Multifunction Printer with Scanner, Copier and Fax. Versatile wireless multifunction printer produces professional color output with an easy to use color LCD display for seamless navigation, Secure Print for additional security and mobile printing capabilities on the go.
Print speed, advertized at 14 ppm, is good but not all that fast. Print quality of text is, as are most laser printers, exceptional. Print quality of images on the other hand is poor. I've tried numerous color profiles and settings on board the printer but I haven't been able to achieve color matching that I would even call fair let alone good. Even printing simple pie charts with specific colors (red, green, blue, etc.) set by their decimal numbers the color output was off. Blues are too dark. Yellows are orangeish. Grey areas are blue tinted. I spent an hour or so and used up close to 50 prints trying to get good color output but the best I could get out of the printer was mediocre.

I like this printer because you can connect to it in places where you do not have wifi access. This is exactly what my son needed for that one teacher until she agreed to let him email her the completed pdfs of his assignments. It's magic. You print without a computer, a cable, or a wifi network. Take it with you on trips (car trips, probably, this is small but not fit in your purse small), and you won't have to use the hotel's printer and risk leaving artifacts of personal information in the caches.
It's not fast enough or cheap enough for everyday use, but quality is excellent and performance is reliable for those times when you really actually do need to print away from home on your tablet or phone. If you want true mobility, you will need to buy the battery for it, which is about $100, or some kind of car adapter - which I am not sure is available.
